FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze at a property in Ridley Road, Winton on Friday afternoon.
Two fire crews were called to the scene shortly before 3pm, after it was reported that a first floor window was blackened and smoke was coming from the building.
They found the first floor of the property well alight and requested additional assistance from Westbourne.
Watch manager Brad Stevens said three fire engines had been deployed to the scene and the property's three occupants had safely evacuated the premises by the time they had arrived.
"The fire caused extensive damage to the first floor bedroom," he added.
"Two of the occupants have places to stay tonight and the Red Cross is helping the other to find accommodation."
Dorset Police also attended to control the traffic while firefighters extinguished the blaze and the Red Cross emergency support vehicle attended to assist occupants of the building.
It is not yet known how the fire started but an investigation is underway.
