A CHARITY challenge to help raise funds for a new women’s health unit will take place for the fourth year this summer.

The Twilight Walk for Women returns to Bournemouth seafront in June, with all money going to the Jigsaw Appeal at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

And organisers from the Bournemouth Hospital Charity are calling on everyone to join in and take part in a 1km, 5km or 10km walk along the prom.

Last year, more than 350 former patients, residents and hospital staff helped to raise £20,000 by strolling in their pink Twilight t-shirts at sunset.

Consultant gynaecologist Alex Taylor, said: “The Twilight Walk is a fantastic event – it really puts women’s health in the spotlight and helps to raise awareness of important health issues.

“A new women’s health unit is currently being built and will be in the brand new Jigsaw building. “However, we still need the public’s support to help buy new equipment for the unit.”

This year’s walk will take place on Friday, June 6 at 8pm.

Registration forms can be picked up from the charity office in the main entrance at the hospital, or copies can be downloaded at bournemouthhospitalcharity.co.uk Registration is £15 per person, and fancy dress is optional.
