IT’S 10 feet high, 18 feet long, its tyres weigh 500kg each and it is coming to Bournemouth beach.

The legendary Bigfoot monster truck will be tearing up the sand at this year’s Bournemouth Wheels Festival, which takes place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend.

Team Bigfoot is based in Daventry, Northamptonshire, and has been putting on shows since 2003. It has travelled as far as the Middle East.

Now, the power and scale of monster trucks are set to come to Bournemouth seafront, with four shows per day.

Nigel Morris, from Team Bigfoot Racing, said: “As the world’s original monster truck, Bigfoot has been involved with a great many ‘firsts’, but I have to say that in my 10 years at the wheel on Bigfoot number 17 the Bournemouth Wheels Festival has to be one of my most exciting.

“I am a complete petrol head and to have this many amazing and diverse vehicles in one place at one time is going to be a feast for my senses.

“I am really looking forward to putting on an amazing show for the audiences in Bournemouth.”

Bigfoot 17 is officially 17 out of 20 in existence, with two more being built in the USA.

It has a huge V8 engine and runs on methanol, producing a whopping 1,750 horsepower and its fuel consumption stands at 56 yards per gallon.

There will be a monster truck offering rides, sponsored by Hoburne Holiday Parks, on the beach at the festival.

Tickets will cost £10, or £5 if you buy a copy of the Wheels Festival programme.
