Man found hanging in Poole Park named as Polish-born Cezary Staszak

First published in News

A POLISH man whose body was found in Poole Park on Friday morning has been identified as Cezary Staszak.

At an inquest today it was revealed that Mr Staszak was found hanging behind a toilet building by a council worker. He was identified by his landlady on Tuesday.

The 49-year-old was born in Inowroclaw, Poland, and had been living for a short time at Merley House Holiday Park in Wimborne.

Coroner's officer Andrew Lord said: “Police identified no suspicious circumstances. An apparent suicide note in Polish was found at the scene along with a packet of prescription medication.”

Dorset coroner Sherriff Payne adjourned the inquest provisionally until June 27.

It is so sad to hear of yet another suicide. I can't imagine how desperate someone must feel to take their own life. R.I.P.

I hate to point out the blindingly obvious.. but basing your opinion on what one 'newspaper' reports gives you a very narrow view of how things actually are. Clearly foreigners committing crime and dying gets you all into a right wing Ukip froth and gets hits/sells papers. Try volunteering in mental health services, street services, or spending a free afternoon down the magisrates court - you will see plenty of local born & bred in Dorset people who are violent, unwell and needing support. How terribly sad that someone dies alone so far from home, friends and family. Have some compassion.

Whatever the ins & outs of foreigners committing crime/killing themselves in Bournemouth it is sad to think that this man, Mr Staszak, died so far from home, family & friends & was so desperate that he felt his only option was to kill himself. Presumably he had come here looking for a 'better life' - sadly, not to be in his case. RIP.

Only on the Echo website could a story about a person dying in tragic circumstances be turned into an argument about immigration. This speaks volumes about the editorial quality of the paper and its lazy moderation policies.

This website has become a shockong advert for our town and there are simply too many examples of a lack of humanity being shown. A person has got to the point of being so distressed they took their own life, please keep that in mind before trying to score political points or speculating why it happened.

That's absolutely a fair point and well made but if the people running the site fail to moderate what are essentially casual racist comments it is surely up to us all to challenge such ignorance. Particularly when the background to the story is so sad yet fellow posters cannot help but air their political preferences off the back of it.

RIP Cezary Staszak....what an awful way to day...alone, in a toilet....horrible and so so sad. My thoughts and prayers with this family/friends at what must be a difficult time. I hope Cezary is now at peace.

As for the people who have posted racist views and are debating immigration, statistics and trolling....well shame on you! A man has taken his life as he felt he had no other option available to him....some some compassion!!!
