TV Vet Adventures’ Luke Gamble wins prized animal welfare award
12:00pm Wednesday 16th April 2014 in News
FROM sick cows to poorly elephants, vet Luke Gamble has helped many creatures from around the world to feel better.
His escapades have even been documented as part of Sky series Vet Adventures.
And now, the animal lover’s work has been recognised with a coveted national award.
Luke, pictured left, who is based at Pilgrims Veterinary Practice in Cranborne, has won the Charity Professional of the Year Award 2014 at Ceva’s Animal Welfare Awards.
The accolade recognises his international animal charities Worldwide Veterinary Service and Mission Rabies.
He said: “It is a huge honour to win this award and it really is a reflection of the great teams that I work alongside and the charities that I have the privilege of being associated with.
“Worldwide Veterinary Service will now have to prove itself worthy of this award and we are working hard on projects such as Mission Rabies to champion animal and human welfare around the world.
“For me, charity work is a wonderful escape from working in practice but I also get a huge kick out of making a difference in places where there are limited veterinary resources.”
