A SPRING clean is being carried out by council staff along the Wessex Way tonight.

The work, which will commence at 8.30pm and is scheduled to be completed by dawn tomorrow, will result in some lane closures.

A Bournemouth council spokesperson said members of its street services team will be undertaking litter picking and grass cutting along the stretch of road.

He added: “It should all be done and completed by 6am on Saturday morning.”

Well done the council for doing this

And not so well done to the slovenly motorists who chose to deposit their rubbish out of their car windows!

Well done Council, scheduling this work at night is quite a refreshing bit of common sense.

But isn't it a shame the guilty anti-social yobs and thieves who regularly come out of our Courts with little more than a gently slapped wrist cannot be required to do this sort of community work at relatively little cost to anyone.

They might even be able to go further and have rolling 'keep right' vehicles to avoid lane closures.
