THE Poole property company named in a parliamentary debate on privately rented ‘party houses’ earlier this week has issued a statement defending its position.

Conservative MP Robert Syms, pictured inset, named Deluxe Holiday Homes as one of the companies renting out private houses in plush Canford Cliffs and Sandbanks to visitors for hen, stag and family parties.

Neighbours say their lives are being made a misery by the antics of these partygoers, and have called for local councillors and Mr Syms to help bring an end to the practice.

Complaints include drunken games of football in the early hours, loud music all night, prostitutes being ‘delivered’ to properties, and even blow up sex dolls adorning the exteriors of the luxury homes.

Deluxe Holiday Homes’ Michelle King was named by Mr Syms, during the Westminster Hall adjournment debate secured on Tuesday, as one of the people providing the short term ‘party’ accommodation. However, Deluxe Holiday Homes insists it regrets any inconvenience caused to residents in the Canford Cliffs area and “has consistently sought to prevent this by only renting to mature and professional groups unlike other companies”.

Deluxe Homes also insists it does not have any properties on Sandbanks.

The company says that prior to booking, “potential holiday makers are made aware they will be staying in residential areas where anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.”

Deluxe also says it has provided telephone numbers to all neighbours in order it can be alerted too “and immediately stop any unacceptable noise”.

The company statement read: “Deluxe Holiday Homes do not own these properties but act as an agent for the owner’s, arranging holiday lets of their properties to generate income and to stimulate the local property and tourist economy/markets at a time of financial hardship.

“Deluxe Holiday Homes do not understand how their Westminster Conservative MP, that their representative voted for, could be arguing against these traditional Conservative principles of entrepreneurship and should be encouraging the success of a local business that imports tourists and funds from outside the area."
