Sports teams from Bournemouth University dominated the recent BUCS Western Conference Cup, achieving three cup-final successes across three disciplines.
Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Basketball and the Men’s Volleyball 2nds all tasted success during the tournament at the University of South Wales.
“I was extremely proud of all of their efforts during the tournament” said Michael Barry, Sport Development Coordinator at sportBU.
The Women’s Lacrosse and Basketball teams outclassed their counterparts from The University of Aberystwyth to secure victories, 24-6 and 85-35 respectively.
The Men’s Volleyball 2nd’s defeated The University of Bristol in a four set thriller, claiming a 3-1 victory.
However the Women’s Hockey side failed to match Volleyball’s success, losing 3-0, again to The University of Bristol.
“Every game was such a fantastic success for BU win or lose” Barry concluded.
“I can quite comfortably say that Bournemouth University had the best presence throughout the day and that the cheers and camaraderie shown was absolutely overwhelming.”
