STAFF, members and customers at a Sherborne leisure complex travelled more than 550 miles in one day to raise money for Sport Relief.
Participants swam, cycled and ran at Oxley Sports Centre to cover a total of 887km and collect more than £250 for the cause.
Oxley also welcomed inspirational speaker John Willis as part of his challenge to swim 1,000m in 50 pools in 100 days for charity Power2inspire.
John added the 1,000m he swam at Oxley, organised by Sherborne Girls School, to the Sport Relief total.
Deputy manager Steve Hurley said: “It was a really fantastic day at Oxley and great to see so many people turn up to clock their miles and support a really great charity.
“We had people on the bikes in reception all day and we were still teaching classes like spinning, swimming and kettle bells so it was a challenge, but really worth it.”
Sport Relief, which this year partners with Swimathon as part of the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games, brought the nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.
Money raised is sent to vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the UK and throughout the world.
