HIGHCLIFFE councillors are leading a campaign to keep the area clean and tidy.
The move includes collecting litter and sprucing up road signs.
County councillor Colin Jamieson said: “When local authorities are concentrating their limited resources on their mandatory activities, a little help from the community goes a long way.
“We decided that volunteering to do this makes a significant difference to the look and appearance of the area, and allows the limited resources of the councils to be spent on things such as pothole repairs.”
Cllr Trish Jamieson added: “Working with the community is important to us.
“By doing this we hope it will encourage others to make sure Highcliffe stays clean and tidy.”
