LEADING businesses from across the area gathered for the AGM of Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

The chamber thanked its patrons and welcomed two more – Darren Northeast PR and Lovetts Estate Agents.

Thanks also went to Bournemouth council, especially Chris Kelu from its economic development team, town centre manager Roger Parker and Bournemouth Tourism for supplying all trade group leaders with a free events training course.

Veteran member Mike Vincent of South Coast Marine Christchurch was given an honorary life membership, for his contributions to the chamber, which included securing Bournemouth Town Hall for monthly meetings, initiating the founder patrons scheme and three terms as president.

The year also marked current president Mandy Payne’s second term in office.

She said: “I am honoured to be attending my second AGM as president. The meeting is a superb chance to catch up with all members of Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce, to recognise the hard work we have all put in over the past year and, as importantly, look ahead to what we aim to achieve in the coming year.”

James Howes of Homark Productions, who recently joined BCTC said: “We’ve only recently joined the Chamber and are very impressed with the help and support they offer us and other members.”
