WAVE 105 Cash for Kids has joined forces with AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust.
The radio station’s campaign will work with the trust to plan a series of fundraising events throughout the year.
The AFC Bournemouth Community Trust delivers a series of sports workshops across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to more than 2,400 children.
Steve Cuss, pictured with Wave 105 presenter Rick Jackson, is head of the trust. He said: “We have seen first-hand the good work they do in the community, including the Mission Christmas project which was supported by the players. We are looking forward to working on more Cash for Kids initiatives in the future and helping it go from strength to strength.”
Wave 105’s charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “We are currently planning a host of events with the team and have just agreed details for an exciting tournament, so watch this space for further details. As part of our partnership the trust has invited us to take some of our disadvantaged children to watch a couple of the Cherries matches and meet the players.
“There are certainly going to be some very excited and happy children when we tell them this news.”
