THE MAN arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman in Bournemouth town centre on Sunday is believed to be her father, the Daily Echo understands.

On Sunday evening police arrested a 58-year-old man from Bournemouth on suspicion of murder after a woman’s body was found in a block of flats in St Michael’s Road.

The woman, who is believed to be a foreign student, has not yet been identified. A post-mortem was due to be carried out yesterday afternoon to establish the cause of her death.

Staff at the Manchester Hotel, close to the flats in which the body was discovered, told the Daily Echo a man covered in blood came to the entrance of the hotel asking staff to call the police.

Emergency services arrived at the scene at around 12.30pm and discovered the body. Yesterday crime scene investigators began examining the scene.

Dorset Police have yet to comment on the relationship between the suspect and the victim or provide details regarding the circumstances of the woman’s death.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Dorset Police on 101.
