Poole RNLI crew come to aid of adult and three children near Rockley Point, Poole Harbour
POOLE’S RNLI inshore lifeboat crew rescued three children and an adult after their jet ski broke down and started drifting from the shore on Saturday evening.
The jet ski had been towing an inflatable, with the children on, near Rockley Point, Poole Harbour, around 7pm.
The tow line had been sucked into the jet ski’s jet, disabling it and leaving it drifting in cold conditions.
An RNLI spokesman said: “When the inshore lifeboat arrived on scene, they checked that everyone was OK.
“The children had wet suits on and had been in and out of the water, but as they had been drifting for over 20 minutes, whilst wet and with the wind chill, they were very cold.
“The volunteer crew established a tow – they took the jet ski back ashore to Lake Road, leaving the adult with one child ashore.
“They then proceeded back to the lifeboat station with the other two children. When they arrived back at the lifeboat station the crew gave them a warm drink.”
