A DAREDEVIL charity fundraiser is to leap 10,000 feet with the backing of her boss.

Amanda Grant, who works at Quantum Recruitment in Bournemouth, will be taking part in a tandem parachute jump in aid of Wessex Cancer Trust.

Her boss, the company’s managing partner Jacqueline Entwistle, will pay the registration fee and minimum sponsorship fee of £300 so every penny goes to the charity.

Jacqueline said: “I am really happy to support Wessex Cancer Trust in this way as I am so aware of the fantastic work that the charity does.

“I lost a close friend and one-time colleague, Sarah Wallis, nee Howells, to cancer at the age of 35. Sarah established and ran Dorset-based company The Passion-ate PA, was committed to raising funds for cancer charities and raised £5,000 for a cancer charity.

“She would have been thrilled to know that we are continuing her support for cancer charities. We would like to dedicate this jump in memory of Sarah and others who have lost their battle with cancer or are fighting cancer at this time.”

Amanda, who will be performing the parachute jump at Salisbury Airfield, said: “I’ve always felt that if I was ever going to do a parachute jump it would be for charity and this opportunity seemed the perfect time, to support Wessex Cancer Trust.”
