ONE of the Mayor of Poole’s chosen charities has been presented with a cheque for £1,500 from Dorset Education Fund.

Parkstone Sports and Arts Centre received the money from the fund, which is managed by Dorset Community Foundation, which aims to support education, learning and training for residents of all ages across the county.

Cllr Phil Eades selected the centre of one of his two chosen charities and said that as a Parkstone resident he understands how significant the need is in the area.

He said: “It was a real pleasure to receive the cheque from the Dorset Community Foundation to support Arts provision at Parkstone Sports and Arts Centre.

“The centre does incredibly good work with youths from some of Poole’s more challenging communities and this money will greatly assist them with this.”

Dorset Community Foundation is currently looking for companies and businesses who have a passion to help secure the future of the Dorset Bursary Scheme.
