A Fire Kills campaign is again encouraging people across Dorset to test their smoke alarms when they change their clocks this weekend.

It is hoping the tagline ‘Tick Tock Test’, will help remind everyone of the need to test smoke alarms at this time of year.

A working smoke alarm can buy you and your family the valuable time you need to get out, stay out and call 999 in the case of a fire.

As part of the Fire Kills campaign, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service is determined to prevent as many deaths as possible and make sure people test their alarms when the clocks change on March 30.

Kate Huelin, prevention manager at Dorset Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Tick, Tock, Test is straight talking, easy to remember and intrinsically links the clock change weekend to testing your smoke alarm.”
