KIND-HEARTED fundraisers donned their onesies and put their best foot forward for Autism Wessex at the weekend.
Adults and youngsters wrapped up warmly in the all-in-one attire to take part in the first onesie walk at AFC Bournemouth’s Goldsands Stadium in aid of the Christchurch-based charity.
Sponsored by law firm Williams Thompson Solicitors LLP, the event saw children and families complete 90 minutes of walking or a certain number of laps achieved in 90 minutes. All the funds raised will go directly to Autism Wessex.
Paul Reade, community and events fundraiser at Autism Wessex said: “There was a nice mixture of people; some of the students at Manor Road house and we had some local people and some of the development team from AFCB came and walked around. Hopefully, the event will grow and become bigger next year.”
The charity supports children and adults with autism across four counties, including Dorset and Hampshire, and carries out fundraisers for its specialist school, Portfield at Hurn, social care services from Community Wessex and its free Advocacy and Advice service.
