SHOPPERS at Asda in Canford Heath were evacuated from the store this afternoon.
At around 3.45pm the supermarket, located on Culliford Crescent, was evacuated after the fire alarm sounded.
“A smoke detector went off on the mezzanine floor,” said store manager Wayne Bailey.
“We think it was caused by dust.”
Mr Bailey said shoppers were allowed to re-enter the building after around five minutes.
A representative from Dorset Fire and Service said no fire crews attended the incident.
