A CHRISTCHURCH men’s club has donated £4,000 to local charities.

Mudeford Men’s Club raised the amount over the Christmas period, including a Boxing Day auction.

The money was shared out among Mudeford RNLI, Help for Heroes, the Christchurch Lifesavers Club, SCARF – which provides events and facilities for around 200 special needs children and their families, REMAP, providing off-the-shelf equipment for people with disabilities and Zoe’s Wish.

Paul Dunn from Zoe’s Wish said: “A cheque of this magnitude to a small charity such as we are, will make a really dramatic difference.”

Former Parachute Regiment RSM Ray Reddell, accepting a cheque for Help For Heroes thanked the club for all its recent donations to the charity, which now amount to around £4,000.

The club’s vice-president, Roger Masterman thanked all the members for their “extreme generosity” in difficult times and also paid tribute to those who had organised the many events at which the money was raised.
