CHRISTCHURCH residents have been invited to a flood advice drop-in session next week.

The event will take place at the Civic Offices in Bridge Street on Thursday, March 20 between 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

The session will be jointly hosted by the Environment Agency and Christchurch Council.

Residents can call in at any time during the session and officers will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on flooding issues.

There will also be information boards giving general flood information.

Cllr Colin Jamieson, who is Dorset County Council’s flood representative, is also advising people to take steps to protect their properties in the future.

He said there is the possibility of help through information collected by Dorset County Council, who are looking at measures to help people who have been flooded.

Residents need to complete an online form either on the website or by printing and sending it through to the post.

The information will be shared by the Environment Agency, lead flood authority, water companies, highways and emergency services to help them in the planning process for future flood defences and warnings.

The form is available at dorsetforyou.com/412026
