YOUNG pupils at Bournemouth’s Linwood School can relax in a comfortable chill-out room, thanks to a generous donation from a school reunion group.
The Alma Mater group, which is made up of former Alma Road School pupils, was founded in 1989 by Sybil Ward, but is now being disbanded due to the dwindling number of members.
Members all agreed that if the group should close, they would spend any remaining funds on Linwood School, which now educates pupils with mental and physical disabilities on the same site.
Chair Betty Jeffries said: “There was £220 left and the school said they wanted some leather beanbags, cushions, pictures and a rug for the new chill-out room. It was lovely to see the children so happy with the new furnishings.”
