Bournemouth Echo: Man left with serious head injuries after attack in Bournemouth town centre Man left with serious head injuries after attack in Bournemouth town centre

A MAN was left with serious head injuries after being attacked in Bournemouth town centre.

Police said this afternoon that the man and a woman, who was left with a less serious head injury, were attacked after three people rang the doorbell of the premises in Parsonage Road, off Bath Road.

It happened at around 8.30pm on Monday.

Detectives said that three people – two men and a woman – visited the address, rang the doorbell and were allowed in.

When inside the property they attacked the occupants, a man and woman, and demanded money.

The offenders left after the police were called having stolen two mobile phones.

Police said that a 31-year-old man sustained serious head injuries, which still require hospital treatment, and a 45-year-old woman sustained a minor head injury.

Detective Sergeant Dave Colomb, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a vicious attack which left one of the victims with very nasty injuries.

“I urge anyone who has information about this incident or the offenders to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.”

The first offender is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 11in tall, of very slim build with pale skin.

He was wearing a dark jacket with a lining that was possibly red in colour and a beanie hat.

The second man is described as white, of normal build with short red hair and a trimmed red beard. He was wearing was Puffa-style dark coloured jacket.

The third offender is described as a white woman approximately 5ft 5in of medium build. She was wearing jeans, a green jacket and short brown Ugg-style boots.

DS Dave Colomb added: “All calls are treated in the strictest confidence.”

No arrests have been made.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 03:417.

Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.

Wouldn't it be great if the offenders are arrested they have to pay for any medical treatment for the victim. Approaches such as this are simple to implement and could save the NHS millions of pounds annually. Even thugs on benefits could have these diverted to recompense NHS. My partner regularly has to treat victims of either drunker/loutish or criminal behaviour and it is so time-consuming, laborious and costly...to us as taxpayers. Yes, everyone who's reading this is subsidising irresponsible behaviour

What makes me think this may be drug-related? The three people "visited the address" and "were allowed in". Does anyone think they told the occupants of the premises - almost certainly a flat, because Parsonage Road has no individual houses - that they were delivering pizza ?
