THOUSANDS of people have rallied behind a social media campaign to put Bournemouth University in the running to win £50,000 to make this year’s summer ball one to remember.
Bournemouth is currently placed in the number one spot on MTV Club and Lucozade Energy’s ‘Pimp My Summer Ball’ leaderboad ahead of 17 other universities competing for the prize.
The competition invites students to submit their votes by tweeting the hash tag #yespimpmysummerball followed by the name of the institution they are voting for.
By 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon, Bournemouth was placed in the number one spot with 226,400 votes.
Anyone wanting to support BU’s bid to win the cash can vote by tweeting #yespimpmysummerball Bournemouth.
The deadline for votes is 5pm on April 7.
