A TEAM of cubs created an alien base to secure joint first place in a town ‘scrapheap challenge’ in Winton on Saturday.
The 38th Bournemouth cub group innovatively used a variety of rubbish and scrap household items to create the base and emerge as joint winners in the competition at Winton Methodist Church, which is in Alma Road.
The group of youngsters were given a theme on the morning of the challenge and then just two hours to use the scrap materials to build the finished product.
They are now eagerly anticipating the county competition, which will take place at an as yet undecided location next month.
