Firefighters tackle north Dorset blaze
MULTIPLE fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a property in Gillingham after receiving calls from 16 people at lunchtime.
Crews from Gillingham, Sturminster Newton, Sherborne, Mere and Wincanton have been at the scene on Church Walk along with the police and an ambulance.
The fire was in the roof area of the building, with the firefighters using two main lines, two hose reel jets and wearing breathing apparatus.
They removed tiles to gain access to the property, but said nobody was trapped inside.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service later confirmed that nobody had been injured.
