Hundreds of businesses in the New Forest have been given new memory sticks full of photos, maps and videos in an effort to encourage visitors to consider alternatives to the car.

Hotels, holiday parks and B&Bs made use of similar memory sticks last year, taking advantage of copyright-free photos, videos and information on the open top New forest Tour, Twizy electric vehicles, trains, walks and cycling.

Now 400 more memory sticks have been produced by the New Forest National Park Authority with new photos, ahead of the tourist season.

They include services launched last year, including the blue route of the New Forest Tour; the summer beach bus from Hythe Ferry to Lymington; the New Forest Walking Festival; and the New Forest Travel Concierge service at Brockenhurst railway station in the summer.

Mark Clayson, owner of the Bay Trees Bed & Breakfast in Milford on Sea, who used last year’s memory stick, said: ‘The images on the memory stick were a godsend when updating our website – really useful stunning views of the forest and surrounding area. Something else that proved especially useful was the information on the New Forest Tour which passed through Milford on Sea for the first time last year encouraging visitors to explore out of their cars.”
