SWANAGE’S Royal British Legion will host the first Terry Dorland Foundation event on Saturday, March 1.

The foundation was established following the death of popular Terry, pictured, who sadly lost his fight against brain cancer last September.

Terry, remembered as a “larger than life “character became involved with a number of charities and worthwhile causes during his lifetime.

His sister Carolyn Hooper said: “The family decided that the best way to deal with our loss was to carry on his good work and formed the foundation, with the aim to raise money for local causes and charities we feel he would believe in.”

The Legion event, ‘Dorland’s Delight’ involves a spa room with treatments, a pre-loved clothes stall, books, cakes, many craft stalls, willow work, a darts knock-out contest and a host of other events and chances to win prizes.

“The evening will be a good party night to celebrate and enjoy in the Dorland fashion,” said Carolyn.
