AN elderly man disturbed a burglary attempt in his home in Christchurch this afternoon.

The NPAS police helicopter was launched to search for the two suspects, who fled the property in Old Barn Road at around 3.56pm, in the St Catherine's Hill area, but no arrests were made.

The offenders were described as male, one in his mid 30s with a blue beanie cap, the other slim, five feet seven inches tall, with a youthful face.

Contact Police on 101, quoting incident number 21:308, with information, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 101.
