The remains found in woodland in Poole have been formally identified as those of missing man Richard Gibbons.
Dorset Police confirmed this morning that the remains, which were discovered by a member of the public close to Evering Avenue, belong to the 54-year-old great grandfather.
His family and the coroner have been informed.
