A LADIES’ shoe shop which has been trading only four years has been named the best in its business.

Doris & Daisy of Wimborne scooped the Ladies Independent Retailer of the Year award in the Footwear Industry Awards, sponsored by Clarks.

The awards are also supported by the trade magazine Footwear Today, whose editor Cheryl Taylor said: “Doris & Daisy has earned an excellent reputation within the industry and is a deserved winner of this award.”

Doris & Daisy, in East Street, is owned by Maria Leese.

Maria said:”The great thing about being an independent is that you get the chance to hand pick your range of shoes and can tailor it to what your customers are looking for.

“We sell a range of stylish and fashionable boots and shoes that is not readily found in other High Street shops and I think it is this individuality that my customers love.

“I often have people telling me that they have been looking all over for a particular pair of shoes, including making trips to London.

“But it is Doris & Daisy that has what they are looking for.”

Maria is expanding her range of various special occasion shoes and offers bridal shoes and shoes for the mother of the bride or groom.

She is offering the popular Rainbow Club range which enables shoes to be perfectly colour matched to any outfit.

Doris & Daisy was also highly commended at the awards in Birmingham for its “beautiful” window displays.
