FIREFIGHTERS have been battling a blaze at a wood chip drying barn in Hurn this evening.
Three crews, from Ferndown, Christchurch and Redhill, were sent to the scene of the fire in Chapel Lane at 5.39pm.
A spokesperson from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said earlier: "The fire is on commercial premises where a large amount of wood chips are stored.
"Two sets of breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, one main line jet and one hose reel jet are in use."
One of the fire engines in attendance has been used as a water shuttle.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service has since confirmed that the fire is out and crews damped down before leaving the scene.
The damage was contained to a small quantity of wood chips and a timber drying tunnel.
