MOTORISTS are set for yet further delays after it was confirmed that Blandford Road will be closed for a third week from Monday.
Wessex Water will continue to work on a section of the busy main road, between Turlin Road and Allens Lane, following a collapsed sewer, which occurred on Sunday, February 2.
While the road closure is in place, it means that residents are not able to turn left out of Turlin Road, but are able to turn right into Poole.
Upton residents are also not able to get into Poole directly through Blandford Road, but instead have to follow diversions via Holes Bay Road.
A spokesperson for Wessex Water, said that work will continue tomorrow after Southern Gas Network has completed the diversion of their high pressure gas main, which crossed over the sewer, preventing repair works.
She added: “The road closure between Turlin Road and Allens Lane will be in place this weekend and next week, however we are doing everything we can, including working 24 hours-a-day, to complete the work as quickly as possible. For more information, go to wessexwater.co.uk
