THIEVES are being hunted detectives after a burglary in Southbourne where a silver tea set was stolen.

The burglary happened some time overnight on Thursday February 6 at a home on Broadway.

The offenders forced their entry into the rear of the property and stole a number of unique items while the occupants were out.

The items stolen include a silver tea service inscribed from the Mayor and Corporation of Abingdon to the victim’s mother and thirty year old navy Crown Derby china.

Detective Constable Richard Saunders, of Bournemouth CID, said: “It was distressing for the victims to return home to find their house had been burgled.

“I would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to come forward as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered such items or similar for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.”
