AN inquest into the tragic deaths of an elderly couple who fell from the window of their Bournemouth flat is due to be held today.

Roy and Glenys Smith suffered multiple traumatic injuries when they plunged 30ft to the ground outside Crag Head in Manor Road on December 3 last year.

A police investigation was initially launched but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. A note was found in their flat.

After their deaths neighbours told how the couple had voiced concerns because they didn’t want to move into a care home.

They said Mrs and Mrs Smith, aged 92 and 89 respectively, were in poor health and were virtually housebound.

Their bodies were identified by their sons, Michael and Richard, who are believed to live in Dorset.

The full inquest, which was opened and adjourned in December, will be held in Bournemouth.
