MATCHAMS karting circuit near Bournemouth is organising an endurance event in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The Enduro 120 – a two-hour race – is looking for 15 teams.

Ray Lovell, from Matchams Karting, is looking for teams of four to six people to take on the event, on March 13.

Registration is £250 per team, so a minimum of £3,750 will be raised, with participants being urged to drum up their own funds as well.

Ray said: “We all know someone affected by this terrible illness, and one in three people are now diagnosed.

“Cancer research has no government funding and facts indicate the technology to beat cancer exists but the money doesn’t.”

Shelley Davies, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for Dorset, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Ray and Matchams Karting have decided to host such a great event.

“By signing up for this, you help us research into cancer and you get to take on the fantastic challenge of a 120 minute race and have a great evening as well.

“We can’t thank Matchams enough for all their support.

“Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we’ve only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters.”

To sign up your team, phone the circuit on 01425 480828.
