TRAGEDY: Aaron Fiveash

THE devastated parents of tragic Aaron Fiveash have voiced heartfelt thanks to everyone who tried to find him.

The 36-year-old’s body was washed up on a Hampshire beach almost a month after he went missing from his parents’ home in Hengistbury Head, Bournemouth.

Aaron, who worked for John Reid and Sons in Christchurch, had not been seen since leaping naked from a bedroom window after suffering panic attacks.

His body was found in Southsea last Wednesday and his family were told the sad news on Monday evening.

His father, Dennis, told the Daily Echo: “Everyone has been so kind to us. Both myself and his mother, Maureen, would like to thank people for supporting us all at this difficult time.

“Our families have been amazing, our neighbours have been so kind and all at Aaron’s workplace have been so supportive. They sent us a lovely letter and they searched the premises every day just in case he had turned up there.”

Mr Fiveash, of Sunnylands Avenue, said the family are particularly keen to thank Dorset Police, especially Inspector Chris Weeks, pictured right, and added: “We also want to thank the Daily Echo for the compassionate coverage and help in trying to find Aaron.”

He said the family feared the worst on the night Aaron went missing, without any possessions, but said their hopes were raised on a number of occasions since then.

“The first night we feared we would be told bad news but after that our hearts were lifted when there were reported sightings of him.

“We now realise the sightings were probably not correct but they were from people doing their best to help.”

Dorset Police are now liaising with their colleagues in Hampshire before funeral arrangements can be made.
