TV cameras will be coming back to Bournemouth's historic Langtry Manor Hotel after it starred in Channel 5's The Hotel Inspector.

This time the Langtry Manor will be appear in a new TV series for foodies - A Taste of the South.

It will showcase the six-course Langtry banquet - a regular event at the hotel with staff in Edwardian costumes.

The hotel in Derby Road is a former royal love nest built by then Prince of Wales - later Edward VII - to woo his lover Lily Langtry.

"We are very proud to have been chosen to appear in the series," said Tara Howard, who runs the hotel with her mother Pamela.

"We welcome guests from all around the world, in particular from Japan, America and most especially Europe thanks to strong links with our airports in Bournemouth and Southampton."

Their last TV appearance bolstered profits by more than 15 per cent.

Taste of the South presenter Hannah Scott-Joynt said the Langtry Manor was chosen for its "exquisite food and service".

"They have accolades in the Guardian Good Food Guide and in many other publications for their excellent food and they did not let us down.

"We had a great time filming and I will most certainly be back to experience the food again in the future," she added.
