A NEW initiative in Wimborne aims to get the town’s businesses networking.

Key members of the town’s business community got together to launch a new group.

The inaugural meeting of Wimborne Square Networking was attended by representatives of seven founding businesses.

They discussed ways of developing and growing the local business community as well as helping and supporting one another in business where possible.

The meeting, at 9 West Borough, was opened by Martin Pate, founder of MJP Law. He welcomed guests and gave every business present a chance to contribute.

He said afterwards: “Wimborne Square Networking is open to all Wimborne-based business owners or managers.

“We are delighted with the feedback and suggestions put forward from those businesses in attendance at our inaugural launch, and we look forward to meeting and welcoming other Wimborne-based businesses in the months to come.”

The founding Wimborne business people in attendance were: Martin Pate, Inga Pope and Risa Moody from MJP Law; Chris Batten from Battens; Cheryl Lawes from England & Company; Jackie Phillipson from P-PR Media Solutions; Sandra Smart from Octopus Personnel; Martin Brunt from St James’s Place Wealth Management; and Adam Story, Chris Hall & Carlton Stockley from Symonds & Sampson.

Wimborne Square Networking describes itself as “a not for profit network group set up by Wimborne-based business owners for Wimborne-based businesses to help growth, development and strengthen improved community relationships”.

The next meeting is on March 15 and places cost £5 per person.

All Wimborne-based businesses are welcome. Places can be booked by emailing Inga Pope on ip@mjplaw.co.uk or Risa Moody at rm@mjplaw.co.uk
