A WOMAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of her car after a two-vehicle crash on a busy dual carriageway.

Firefighters and police were called to the westbound carriageway of the A31 at Stoney Cross just before 9pm on Tuesday.

The driver of a Volkswagen Polo was freed from her car and taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from slight injuries.

A BMW was also involved in the accident and its driver was unhurt.

Around 25 firefighters attended and left the scene at 10.40pm. Police ensured the road was clear and left at 11.15pm.
