A POOLE hairdressing salon is celebrating after their latest trainee became fully qualified, just like his family from 14 generations before him.

Louis Glover, a trainee and junior stylist who works at Synergy Hairdressing, descends from a long line of relatives who have worked in the industry, including his Spanish-born grandfather, Francisco.

Francisco came over to work with fellow hairdresser Peter Raymonds before setting up his own salons in Bournemouth, and was a stylist to the stars including Anita Harris, before training up Marc Young, who is highly respected within the industry.

Louis said that he grew up hearing tales of his grandfather’s talents and subsequently became interested in the profession himself.

He said: “I began training when I was 16, in an appren-ticeship programme, and have worked my way up from there.

“Now I’m qualified, I will be responsible for building up my own clientele and will be involved with all aspects of hairdressing from washing to cutting, colouring and blowdrying.

He added: “I feel that I’m meant to be a part of Synergy, as when I was chatting to one of my clients, Truda, recently, I discovered that she used to work for my grandfather all those years ago.

“Truda began working at Raymond’s in Bournemouth before following my grandfather to his own salon and now she comes to have her hair styled by me.”

Colina Currell, owner of Synergy Hairdressing, said: “It’s wonderful to see young people such as Louis grow and flourish within our company.

“We believe in regular training for our staff and will continue to invest in Louis’ future, so he can work his way up the career ladder.

“Truda, who is one of our regular clients, was so thrilled to meet Louis and discover the connection between them.

“She told me that she can see so many of the same qualities in Louis that she saw in his grandfather, in the sense that he is very much a perfectionist, who pays great attention to detail.”
