ONE man has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery at a Pokesdown store.
It is alleged that two men robbed the Post Office in Christchurch Road, near to the junction with Hambledon Road, with a handgun earlier this month.
The men are said to have gone into the shop at 2.35pm on Friday, January 10 with their faces and heads covered before threatening an employee and leaving with a quantity of cash.
No one was injured in the incident.
Detective Constable Leo Glendon, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “Following further enquiries I am now able to release additional details.
“The amount of cash which was handed over during the incident contained three distinct red Northern Ireland 10 pound notes.
“I would ask anyone who has been given such a bank note since the time of the incident to call Dorset Police.
”I also urge anyone with information and any witnesses to the incident to contact police.”
A 26-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
