A VEHICLE hire company is promoting its motorhome rental service all over the country thanks to its own trucks.

Abacus, the Ferndown and Andover-based hire specialist, has wrapped the bodies of two of its Daf 7.5-ton hire trucks to promote the motorhome side of its business.

Dave Wolfenden, founder and managing director of Abacus, said the trucks would be seen across the UK as they were hired by commercial customers.

He said: “It’s the first time since we launched our motorhome hire division that we have used our trucks to promote the fact that we have a wide selection of modern motorhomes for hire.”

Launched in 2006, the number of two-to-six berth motorhomes has grown to 42. More than 15 per cent of customers use them to travel to mainland Europe.

Online bookings are the strongest area of growth but the company hopes the promotional trucks will reach people who are not active online.
