A MAN was grabbed by the throat during an alleged attempted robbery in Boscombe precinct last week.

The 30-year-old victim, from Bournemouth, was outside Sainsbury’s store between 8pm and 8.45pm on Wednesday, January 15, when he was allegedly threatened by another man who demanded cash off him, and grabbed his neck when he refused.

He was not harmed in the incident.

The offender was described as a white man, five feet four inches tall, clean shaven with blisters on his lips. He was wearing a light blue T-shirt, dark black jeans and a black coat.

Detective Constable Stefanie Belton, of Bournemouth CID, said: “It appears likely that the described man approached several members of the public who may have witnessed this incident.”

A 32-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and released on bail pending further enquiries.
