A COLLISION has caused rush-hour congestion on the A338 spur road.
The crash happened at around 4pm on the northbound carriageway between the Cooper Dean flyover and the Blackwater junction.
It involved a blue Fiat 500 Lounge registered to a woman from Verwood and a red Ford Ka registered to a woman from Cornwall. One of the vehicles collided with the central reservation.
One motorist reported a travel time of 30 minutes between the Cooper Dean flyover and Blackwater junction.
Traffic is also reported to be at a standstill on Castle Lane and a woman who contacted the Daily Echo said she had waited 45 minutes to get out of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital car park.
Police said no one was believed to have been injured.
