HOMES and businesses close to Poole town centre suffered a blackout this morning.
Around 420 customers were affected by the power cut, said Southern Electricity.
An electricity company spokesman told the Daily Echo: “I can confirm we have a fault on our network, we believe this to be an underground cable.
“The power was lost at 10.27am. We are currently switching to restore customers and isolate the fault.
“At 10.48, 104 customers were back on supply. At 11.36 a further 200 were back on.”
The spokesman said engineers are working to reconnect the remaining customers as quickly as possible.
