OIL deposits found along Bournemouth’s seafront are expected to be completely washed away by the end of the week.
Signs warning the public about oil on the beach and promenade went up on Friday last week after dark patches were reported in the shallow water and washed up ashore.
Bournemouth Council said the oil spots were believed to be natural oils from the sea bed washed in within the seaweed during the recent severe weather.
A spokesman said: “Our seafront team had put some signage up to advise residents to be careful when walking along the beach.
“There have been no major issues and the oil is naturally washing away.
