DELAYS: Work is under way to improve Bournemouth's sewerage system
MOTORISTS faced delays in Bournemouth town centre while Wessex Water carried out improvements to the sewerage system.
Temporary traffic lights were in operation at the Yelverton Road junction on Monday and Tuesday while 10 metres of sewers were relined.
But Wessex Water said their decision to use specialist techniques and reline the sewers through an existing manhole saved motorists weeks of disruption.
A spokesperson said they had managed to avoid any excavations, which would have taken more than three weeks and required other utilities to divert their services.
