A MAN has admitted causing death by careless driving following a crash that killed a Poole teenager.
Joshua Sadler, 21, pleaded guilty to the charge at Bournemouth Crown Court and is due to return on January 27 to be sentenced.
Sadler, of Fleet Court, Poole, was given bail until the sentence hearing.
The charge relates to a crash at Huntick Road, Lytchett Matravers, which happened on February 8 last year.
Mikey Maguire, 19, from Upton, was killed when the car he was travelling in with Sadler, a close friend of his, came off the road and struck a tree.
It was just a few days before his 20th birthday.
The collision happened at around 10pm on the rural road, close to the entrance of Huntick Farm Caravan Park, when the silver Renault Clio left the carriageway on a bend and ploughed across the bank.
Tributes poured in after Mikey’s death from his family and friends and, in the months since the crash, Mikey’s mum Allison Jarman set up Mikey’s Foundation.
The foundation aims to promote road safety and to lower the speed limit at Huntick Road.
Fundraising events have already taken place, including a bike ride.
Campaigners are hoping to get the speed limit lowered from 60mph to 40mph.
