A FATHER who had £2,000 worth of electrical goods stolen while his girlfriend was in labour is appealing for help to trace the thieves.

Two flat screen televisions and an Xbox were taken from the Parkstone flat on New Year’s Eve along with a DVD player, numerous games and unopened Christmas presents.

Darren Wells was looking after his girlfriend Emily Crocker who gave birth to baby Sienna at Poole Maternity Unit when all the high-value electrical goods were stolen.

The father, who lives with his 12-year-old son Lloyd at the flat in Ashley Road, said: “They have broken my son’s heart. He was so upset to see that his Xbox had been taken along with lots of other Christmas presents.

“It was his pride and joy.

“I came back to the flat on New Year’s Day after my girlfriend had given birth to find rubbish had been tipped all over the floor as the thieves used a bin bag to take everything.

“I want some kind of justice to be served, so if anyone knows anything at all, please come forward.”

Police are currently investigating the burglary and say that it occurred at some point between 12.30pm on December 31 and 1.42pm on January 1.

No arrests have been made and they are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “We received a report of a burglary at 1.42pm on Wednesday January 1. A number of high value electrical items were stolen.”

A 47in LG Smart TV, 22in Alba flat screen TV and Xbox 360 Modern Warfare Three model were all taken.
